Coleman Auto Parts is located at 3135 Cedar Ave SW, Birmingham, Alabama. It was opened by R.C. Coleman in the late 1930s. The address at that time was 132 Cedar St., Powderly, Alabama. R.C. lived across the street from the business with his three children and his wife Mable. In addition to auto parts, much of it salvaged from junked automobiles, the business also stocked lumber, coal, hardware, and groceries.  R. C. and Mable's son, W.L. (Bud) joined the business after he left school. In the early 1950s, the business was sold to a relative, Dub Coleman. With the proceeds of the business, R.C. and Bud developed Coleman Lakes, a recreational fishing business in McCalla, Alabama. Dub Coleman sold Coleman Auto Parts in 2013.
