The Dr Smith Block was a three-story commercial building located at 118 19th Street North from the 1880s to the early 1900s. The Meyer-Marx Co. wholesale liquor business occupied the ground floor in the 1890s.
The upper rooms were given the address, "118½ 19th Street North". Some tenants subdivided their space into rooms sub-leased to individuals as lodgings without board.
