Edward Maddox

Edward Maddox (born c. 1956) is a barber, entrepreneur, former Woodlawn High School band director and candidate for Birmingham Board of Education District 4 in the 2009 election.

Maddox graduated from Carver High School and has a bachelor's degree in music education from Florida A&M University and a master's in music education from Alabama A&M University. He was Woodlawn's band director and now owns and operates the New Creations Barber Shop and New Creations Event Room in Woodlawn.

Maddox has served as president of the Woodlawn neighborhood association and as treasurer of the East Birmingham community. He has also chaired the NAACP's education improvement action network.
