Fultondale Elementary School is an elementary school in the Jefferson County school system serving grades 1-6 for the Fultondale area. It is located off of Central Avenue, overlooking U.S. Highway 31. Enrollment for the 2006-07 school year was just over 600. The principal is Cynthia Cornelius.

History

Fultondale Elmentary was previously located at 1500 Walker Chapel Road. Fultondale Mayor Jim Lowery proposed the city build the new school even before funds were freed from a court challenge. The funds were later released. Construction of the new school by Wyatt Construction Company took 11 months and cost $16 million. The new school includes modern features such as a media center and cafetorium. Students first began attending the new school on January 8, 2007, after the conclusion of winter break. The old school will be torn down to make way for a Target as part of the Fultondale Colonial Promenade shopping center.
