Dr. Graham C. Boettcher is the Luce Foundation Curatorial Fellow of American Art at the Birmingham Museum of Art.
Boettcher completed his bachelor of arts at Yale University in 1995. He is a 2004 graduate of the Yale University School of Art and was a resident fellow at the Terra Foundation for American Art in Chicago. His doctoral dissertation was entitled "Domestic Violence: Familial and Political Conflict in the Work of Emanuel Leutze."
His first curated exhibit of works from the Museum's permanent collection was "Sea Fever: American Art and the Aquatic Imagination," (May - July 2007) which also featured privately-owned works.
