The Episcopal Place Gumbo Gala is an annual gumbo competition and fund-raising event held at Caldwell Park to benefit Episcopal Place. Both amateur and professional teams cook pots of gumbo in the park for competitive judging and public tasting. Music, children's inflatable jump zones, face painting and baked goods for sale round out the event.
The festival was launched in 2006 and is held each May. Past winners include the Garage Café.
