The Heart of Dixie Quilters Guild, founded in 1988, is a quilting club that meets the second Tuesday of each month at Cahaba Springs Presbyterian Church in Trussville.
The guild, open to all, performs community-service projects such as making quilts for critically ill babies at St Vincent's East, creating "Quilts of Valor" for military veterans, and donating a heart-related quilt to the American Heart Association's Heart Ball auction. The group also sponsors quilting challenges, retreats, workshops, classes and other programs.
