The Homewood City Council is the legislative body for the city of Homewood. It is made up of two representatives from each of five wards. One representative is then elected President of the Council. The council meets in the evenings on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.
As of February 2009 the council is made up of:
- President Jeff Underwood
- Anthony R. Smith, Ward I, Place 1
- Sam Scott, Ward I, Place 2
- Allyn Holladay, Ward II, Place 1
- Vance Moody, Ward II, Place 2
- J. J. Bischoff, Ward III, Place 1 (resigned June 22, 2009)
- Walter Jones, Ward III, Place 2
- Hunter Payne, Ward IV, Place 1
- David Hooks, Ward V, Place 1
