John A. Loper, Jr (born c. 1943) is pastor of Garywood Assembly of God. He began at the church on February 11, 1979 and retired effective the same date in 2013.

While pastor, Loper founded the Garywood Christian School and led campaigns to build a new 1,600-seat worship center in Hueytown and to initiate a planned move to McCalla.

After retiring Loper and his wife, Sharon, continued a speaking ministry.
