John W. Stewart III

John W. Stewart III (born 1952) is the 15th president of the University of Montevallo, beginning his term on August 1, 2010.

Stewart has a bachelor's degree in history from Wake Forest University, a master's in English from Washington College, and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was worked at Southern Miss, Swarthmore College and William Carey University. He was vice president for institutional advancement for Flagler College in St Augustine, Florida from 2005 until he was hired at Montevallo.

Stewart is no relation to the 12th president of Montevallo, John W. Stewart, who served from 1988 until 1992.
