Lakes at Inverness (formerly Cahaba Lakes Apartments) is an 88-acre community composed of one- and two-bedroom apartments and townhouses located at 1000 Hunt Cliff Road off U. S. Highway 280 in unincorporated Shelby County.

In mid-August 2008, the complex was the site of the Cahaba Lakes murders, in which five gruesome homicides were committed by drug couriers against members of an Atlanta-based faction of a Mexican drug cartel. The deaths were a major news item and the complex later changed its name to Lakes at Inverness.

In October 2012, a $4 million renovation of the complex was completed. Renovations included the clubhouse and pool deck, plus the construction of a cyber cafe, fitness center, and cinema-sized theater.
