The '''Little Belle Iron Company''' was incorporated on [[July 24]], [[1888]] to construct blast furnaces in [[Bessemer]]. [[Henry F. DeBardeleben]] was president of the company. Other investors included [[E. A. Burke]] of Bessemer along with three shareholders from Charleston, South Carolina and five from Natchez, Mississippi.

The company's first plant, a 12x60 charcoal-fired furnace, began construction immediately. It was supplied from large timber and ore holdings owned by the company.

Little Belle and the [[Bessemer Iron & Steel Co.]] were consolidated into the [[DeBardeleben Coal & Iron Company]] in [[1890]]. That company was in turn sold to the [[Tennessee Coal, Iron & Railroad Company]] in [[1892]].
