Marvin’s Building Materials and Home Centers is a chain of home improvement stores based in Leeds.
History
Marvin's was founded as a single hardware store in Alabama City (now Gadsden) by Marvin Cohn in 1945. Cohn later expanded with a second store and additional products. In 1965, the two stores were replaced by a newly-built, full-service home center. The following year, Cohn's oldest son, Alfred, finished his education and joined the business, eventually taking over from his father.
The chain has since moved its headquarters to Leeds and spread across Alabama and Mississippi. In 2012, the first of several planned Tennessee stores opened.
