The Mayor of Pinson is the elected head of Pinson's city government. The position was established in 2004, shorty after the city incorporated. Pinson's mayors serve four-year terms.
History
Because Pinson incorporated during 2004, a normal year for municipal elections in Alabama, two mayoral elections were held that year. The interim election was held on May 4, with Hoyt Sanders running unopposed. Sanders was the leader of the group that lead the incorporation drive. During the regular elections in August, Sanders and Phil Sims were sent into a runoff election. Sanders held off Sims in the runoff in September and was re-elected by a vote of 504 to 357. Sanders ran unopposed in 2008.
