The Metro Grill was an upscale restaurant that was located in the Brookwood Village Convenience Center.
It opened in May 2001 and was chosen as "Best New Restaurant in Birmingham" in the Birmingham Weekly readers' poll. The executive chef was Alan Martin, formerly of Bottega and Highlands Bar & Grill. He created a seasonal menu of "American grill fare with a French influence". The restaurant also featured live music on weekends.
In 2003 restaurant manager Rick Tuttle revamped the lunch menu and expanded the dinner options with smaller plates and sandwiches to broaden the restaurant's appeal.
