Mike Jones (football coach)
Michael Anthony Jones (born April 14, 1960 in Chattanooga, Tennessee) is a former NFL wide reciever and is currently coach of the AAFL's Team Alabama.
Jones played collegiately at Tennessee State University, and in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings (1983 - 1985) and New Orleans Saints (1986 - 1989). After his retirement, Jones began his coaching career at Liberty University. He was an assistant with the XFL's Orlando Rage in 2001 and with NFL Europa's Rhein Fire for five seasons.
In 2004, Jones took the head coach position with the Frankfurt Galaxy. In four seasons, he led the Galaxy to three World Bowl appearances winning the NFL Europa title in 2006.
In November 2007, the president of Team Alabama, Joe Cribbs, tapped Jones to be the team's head coach, after talks with Jackie Sherrill broke down. Since the NFL Europa folded in the summer of 2007
