Munchies' "Wall of Respect"

Munchies Food Store is a gas station and convenience store located at 4100 5th Avenue South on the northeast corner of the intersection of 41st Street across from the entrance to Avondale Park. It is owned by Randy Shunnarah.

Part of the building housed a "777 Jackpot" gaming area until late 2006 when the Alabama Supreme Court clarified the state's anti-gambling law.

The south wall of the building, facing the park, is painted with a mural entitled "Wall of Respect".

The store began selling fresh produce in 2014 as part of REV Birmingham's "Urban Food Project".
