Operation "Taking It to the Streets" was an operation of the Birmingham Police Department's Vice/Narcotics Unit in cooperation with local precincts.

The operations, conducted in 2006, have netted 92 arrests, 16 gun siezures, 7 towed vehicles and 23 ticketed citations.

November 4, 2006

In the Kingston, South Town, Avondale, Titusville and Five Points South neighborhoods:

  • 24 felony arrests
    • 11 for unlawful possession of marijuana in the 1st degree
    • 9 for unlawful possession of a controlled substance
    • 1 for theft of trade mark
    • 1 for violation of a "certain person forbidden" warrant
    • 2 on outstanding arrest warrants
  • 33 midemeanor arrests
    • 5 for unlawful possession of marijuana in the 2nd degree
    • 4 for VSFA
    • 7 for operating a business without a license
    • 7 on outstanding arrest warrants
    • 2 for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia
    • 1 for solicitation for prostitution
    • 2 for driving under the influence
    • 1 for disorderly conduct
    • 5 others
