Pelham City Park
Pelham City Park is the primary public park in the city of Pelham on Ballpark Road to the west of U. S. Highway 31 (Pelham Parkway). The park is bounded by the Belle Vista Mobile Home Park to the north and Cahaba Valley Creek and Bearden Road (Alabama Highway 105) to the west. Old Ashville Road runs along the southeast edge.
The park has two large baseball fields, two small softball fields, and two tee-ball fields as well as a full-sized football/soccer field and smaller practice field. There are also eleven hard-surfaced tennis courts and six batting cages. A half-mile walking track encircles the larger baseball diamonds and a playground adjoins the tee-ball fields. A picnic area features a covered pavilion.
The Pelham Chamber of Commerce and Pelham Tennis Center are housed at the park.
An obelisk in the park is inscribed with the names of prominent residents such as Paul Yeager, the first Mayor of Pelham, Willie Mae Dennis, long-time city clerk, Patricia Fuhrmeister, probate judge, and Philip Davis, the first Pelham Police Department officer to be killed in the line of duty.
