The Pete Hanna Arena is a 132,000 square-foot, 5,000 seat multi-purpose indoor stadium and fitness center located on the campus of Samford University and home to the Samford Bulldogs men's and women's basketball teams. It also houses offices and other facilities for the Samford athletics department and a 12,000 square-foot student fitness center.
Extra wooden seating over a temporary court covering can expand the capacity to 6,000 seats for graduations and other programs.
Completed in 2007 next to Seibert Hall and the Bashinsky Field House, the arena was named for Pete Hanna, a former Howard College football star and CEO of Hanna Steel of Fairfield. Designed by Stanmar, Inc. of Sudbury, Massachusetts, it is reportedly one of the largest buildings ever built to is a strict Georgian style of architecture.
