Sadler's Gap

Sadler's Gap was a railroad bridge over Gadsden Highway in north-east Jefferson County between Roebuck and Roebuck Plaza, where present-day Interstate 59 passes over U.S. Highway 11.
Sadler's Gap was located in a curve on the heavily-traveled road. The concrete slabs of the railroad bridge were known for being narrow, and were frequently covered in spray-painted graffiti. Sadler's Gap was demolished in 1972 to make way for the Interstate, which currently passes over a widened Highway 11 at the Sadler's Gap site.
