St Aloysius Catholic Church is a Catholic church in the Diocese of Birmingham located at 751 Academy Drive in Bessemer.

On January 25, 1888, the Bessemer Land Company deeded four lots along 5th Avenue North for a church, rectory, and school. The first frame building was constructed by hand that year. A one-room school was built behind the church before the close of the 19th century and staffed with lay teachers. In 1900 the Sisters of Mercy began staffing the school. They discontinued their service to the school in 1981/

In 1920, a new, larger, brick building was erected at the corner of 5th Avenue and 17th Street North.

On December 21, 1989, a fire destroyed the church. A new church was completed on Academy Drive just off I-20/59 in time for Christmas services in 1992
