Studio Whale is a start-up company founded by Matt Sheets which is developing "Starfish", a bluetooth-enabled safety device for children's car seats. The device detects the weight of a child and alerts parents or, ultimately, emergency responders, if they leave the child unattended in a parked car.

Sheets used a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund initial production of the device.
