Ted's Garage is a car museum and event space opened by Ted Thomas and his wife Debby in the former Hires Root Beer building at 2309 5th Avenue South, near WorkPlay.
The garage was originally only intended for storing, servicing and privately displaying Thomas' collection of mostly 1950s and 60s sports cars. David Noe is the full-time mechanic who works on them, and on other collector's cars brought in for time on the lifts.
During the renovation, architect George Israel suggested that Thomas make the showroom available for events. The venue features room for up to 500 guests, a digital projector and screen, and a rotating display of specimen cars mingling with the guests up front. Day Star Construction carried out the renovation work.
