The Road South: A Memoir is an autobiography by Shelley Stewart with Nathan Hale Turner, Jr. It was originally published in hard cover by Warner Books in 2002 (ISBN 0446530271) and then in paperback a year later (ISBN 0446690880). The book details the life of Stewart, from his early family life in Rosedale under an abusive father through his rise as one of the first African American radio personalities and ultimately to his ownership of a $40-million company.
