This article is about the Mayor of Center Point. For the Brighton City Council member, see Tom Henderson (Brighton city councilor). Tom Henderson is the first and current mayor of Center Point, which was incorporated in 2002. Before retiring, he was the Director of Athletics for Jefferson State Community College.

Henderson earned his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in education from the University of Alabama. He retired after 40 years of coaching and teaching, inducted in 2000 into the Alabama Junior College Athletic Hall of Fame. He was elected in the first Center Point mayoral election held on April 23, 2002.

Henderson serves on board of directors of the Eastern Area Health Services Foundation and on the administrative board of Center Point United Methodist Church, where he also teaches Sunday school. He and his wife, Betty, have two children and five grandchildren.
