UAB Hospital, also called the University of Alabama Hospital or University Hospital is a hospital comprised of various entities located in the Birmingham Medical District and is part of the UAB Medical Center. The hospital complex is certified for 1,207 beds.

The Emergency Department is the only hospital in Alabama currently designated as a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons, and it is a regional referral center for head trauma, spinal cord trauma, burns, and other serious conditions.
