The Utopia Theater was an African-American cinema located at 312 18th Street North, next door to the Hury Amusement Company's Champion Theatre. It was managed by Bob Reed.

It 1916 the Utopia advertised itself as, "the only Negro movie under direct Negro management," and promised to play only feature pictures, and of those, only the "best, cleanest, and most instructive," films, accompanied by "good music."
