Westover (incorporated in 2001) is a town located along U.S. Highway 280 in northern Shelby County, between Chelsea and Harpersville. The current mayor is J. Mark McLaughlin.

Government

Westover has a mayor/council system of government. The Westover Town Council consists of five seats, currently occupied by Luke Dorough (Place 1), Larry Riggins (Place 2), Annette S. Tyler (Place 3), Susan Strickland (Place 4), and Jeanne Champion Fisch (Place 5). The council meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at Westover Town Hall.

The town provides a public library, located within Town Hall, and a park, located behind Town Hall. The town has a pending request for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office to locate a substation within the town for police protection. Emergency services are provided by Westover Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
