El Paso Wildflower Preserve is a gated preserve being developed by the Freshwater Land Trust on a 47-acre tract behind Wildwood Centre. It was funded and named for El Paso Corporation, which is funding the development of the preserve through its affiliate, Southern Natural Gas.

El Paso was looking for a environmental project in the Homewood area and inquired of the Freshwater Land Trust, which already owned the land. El Paso offered $35,000 to develop the area as a preserve. Plans call for a 6,000-foot walking trail, benches, and foot bridges across the property's two streams. It is estimated that 15 to 20 species of wildflower and trees are in the area.
