This article is about the fishing lure maker, for the early Birmingham doctor, see William Elias B. Davis.

William Davis is the owner of Davis Bait Company in Sylacauga, a maker of high-end fishing lures, and the inventor of the "Shaky Head Worm", named "best bass producing lure" for 2007 in Bassmaster magazine.

Once a tournament fisherman, Davis was frustrated with the lures available at retail stores and began crafting his own spinnerbaits and jigs in his garage. Soon the quality of his lures allowed him to expand the company to a major manufacturing operation, supplying lures to the national market.
