Advent Episcopal Day School is a private school located at 2019 6th Avenue North in downtown Birmingham. The school was founded in 1950, and while the facilities are attached to Cathedral Church of the Advent, is autonomous, receiving no financial backing from the church. The school serves approximately 340 students from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. The school's headmistress is Una Battles.
The school claims to be the first independent school to integrate black and white students in Jefferson County, having done so in 1969.
