The Alabama Baptist State Convention is the autonomous affiliate of the Southern Baptist Convention encompassing all of Alabama. It was formed in 1823. Its offices are in Prattville. In the Birmingham area Birmingham Metro Baptist Association, Friendship Baptist Association, Mud Creek Baptist Association, North Jefferson Baptist Association, and Shelby Baptist Association are its local affiliate.
