The district superintendent is Tim Fox. The Wesleyan Church was formed in 1968 by the merger of the Pilgrim Holiness Church and the Wesleyan Methodist Church. The district was formed in 2001. Previously, Birmingham-area churches were part of the Delta District of the Wesleyan Church.
