Acton Memorial Cemetery marker

Acton Memorial Cemetery was established on August 18, 1882 with the death of Elizabeth Lee Acton, wife of Reverend William Acton. U.S. President Millard Fillmore deeded the land to Reverend Acton in 1852.

The cemetery is composed primarily of William and Elizabeth's descendants. The cemetery existed 29 years before the Acton Memorial Presbyterian Church was established.
