Clyde Samuel "Bud" Precise is the pastor of Pilgrim Church. He holds dual ministerial standing in the United Methodist Church and the United Church of Christ, to which Pilgrim Church belongs. He became pastor of Pilgrim Church in 2003.

Precise, a native of Scottsboro, Ala., served most of his active ministry in the UMC's North Alabama Conference, congregations of which included Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood and Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook. He also served a stint in the Peace Corps.

Precise announced in Fall 2008 that he will resign from Pilgrim sometime during the summer of 2009 in order for that congregation to begin a search for a full-time pastor. Precise has been serving Pilgrim on a part-time basis.
