Christ the King Anglican Church is a congregation of the Anglican Church of North America located at 2250 Blue Ridge Road in Hoover. It was founded by by Lyle Dorsett, the Billy Graham Professor of Evangelism at the Beeson Divinity School on the campus of Samford University. Beginning with its first service on November 4, 2007, the congregation met in Andrew Gerow Hodges Chapel at Beeson for many years. Later it purchased and remodeled Berney Points Baptist Church on Blue Ridge Drive off I-65 near the top of Shades Mountain in Hoover.
At the time of its founding, Dorsett, was also serving as an associate pastor at St Peter's Anglican Church and said that the goal for the new church is to attract young unchurched people with a "positive, forward looking" message combined with traditional Anglican liturgy and sacramental rites. The church was initially affiliated with the Anglican Mission in America. As a result of the consolidation of conservative Anglican groups in the United States it is now affiliated with the Anglican Church in North America.
After Dorsett's retirement, Michael Novotny became rector of the church in June 2017.
