Dotson Nelson (born March 11, 1915, Clanton, Mississippi; died July 1, 1998, Birmingham, Alabama) was pastor of Mountain Brook Baptist Church from 1961 to 1981. During his tenure the congregation's sanctuary was built and the its membership grew considerably.

The Dotson McGinnis Nelson Junior Lectureship in Religion and Life was established at Samford University in his honor in 1984 by Martha Holley and Howard Lamar Holley.
