Greater St John Baptist Church, formerly known as St John Baptist Church, is located at 2401 Carlos Avenue Southwest in the Jones Valley neighborhood. It was established by 1910. It was recognized as one of the Movement churches by the Birmingham Historical Society for its role in the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights in the 1950s and 60s. The senior pastor is Nathaniel Brooks
