The Hoover Historical Society (HHS) was established in 1989 to promote knowledge about the past, current and future development of the city, to preserve and make available such material for future reference, to encourage fellowship and public outreach; and to cooperate with other city entities and historical groups. The Society's office was located at 571 Park Avenue in Hoover in the Artists On The Bluff building (formerly Bluff Park Elementary School). In June 2018, the office relocated to 2020 Valleydale Road in Suite 108.
