Weidler grew up in Birmingham and graduated from [[Mountain Brook High School]]. She obtained a bachelor's degree from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee and a Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. Ordained in the UCC in 1983, she and her husband, Richard Weidler, have served churches in New England, Pennsylvania, and most recently, North Carolina. The couple has a son and a daughter.
