• May: The burned body of Camella July, 22, of Center Point was found near Slope Drive in the Mulga area. Reginald Davis was convicted in 2007 of intentional murder.

Fairfield

July 28: George Lewis, Jr., was closing the King George Bar on Third Avenue West, Fairfield, for the night when he was shot and killed by Steven Phillips. Phillips was also charged with the attempted murder and first-degree robbery of Lewis' employee, Michael Nix. [1]
