Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church is located at 2404 Altadena Road. It was organized on June 5, 1854, and erected a log building on its present site. In 1912 the church split, those desiring to unite with the Presbyterian Church in the USA formed Acton Memorial Presbyterian Church.
History
The first school in the area was a subscription school named Rocky Ridge School that was organized in the 1850's. It met in the Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church located across the street from the current school grounds. In 1881 the church deeded land to build a new school and then in 1893 a better, wood-framed structure was completed to replace the former log cabin.
