Allen Pate (born May 1943) is a former Alabama Department of Labor commissioner, executive director of the City of Hoover, and president of the Alabama City County Management Association.

Pate began his career in construction. He was working as director of the Birmingham Carpenters Apprentice Training Program when he was tapped by Governor George Wallace to head the state's Labor Department in 1983. The appointment was understood at the time as repayment of a "political debt" after Wallace received the endorsement of the Alabama Labor Council.

Pate was first hired by the city of Hoover to manage construction of the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in February 1988. After construction ended, he was promoted to Director of Operations. He was made the city's Executive Director in 1993, with supervisory control over all city departments except for the Hoover Police Department and Hoover Fire Department.

Pate served under five Mayors before retiring at the end of 2016. The Allen Pate Press Box at the Hoover Met is named in his honor.
