Birmingham Shambhala Meditation Center is a Buddhist meditation center located at 714 34th Street South in Avondale. It opened in 1998 and offers a variety of meditation opportunities each week. The meditation sessions are open to all and draw many people who belong to Christian and Jewish religious communities. Shambhala is an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by the Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

In 2015, the Birmingham center started a satellite community in Huntsville. It meets weekly in a Unitarian church.
