Blackfriars

The Blackfriars was the name of the dramatic performance group at the University of Alabama in the early 20th century. The group was organized in 1907 by Professor F. D. Losey. The troupe staged professional performances, specializing in Shakespeare, but also commissioning original plays.

Lester Raines directed the group between 1937 and 1942.
