Dan Reeves

George Daniel Reeves is a former judge for the Shelby County Circuit Court, sitting from 1998 to 2016.

Reeves attended Florida College and UAB and completed his law degree at the Birmingham School of Law. He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in September 1984 and was named clerk of the circuit court for Shelby County in 1988.

Reeves first won election to the circuit court bench in 1998. Reeves defeated challenger Ferris Ritchey in the 2010 Republican primary and was unopposed in the general election.

Reeves retired on March 1, 2016. Governor Robert Bentley appointed a replacement to serve until the winner of the 2016 general election could take the seat.

Reeves and his wife, Stephanie have five children; Joshua, Heather, Christopher, Rachael and Brianna.
