Kim Emerson was the chief of the Kimberly Police Department.

Biography

After working at the Winston County Sheriff's Department for 12 years, Emerson joined Kimberly's police force in November 2001. Chief Lynn McDonald resigned a few days later and Emerson was promoted to fill the post on December 13th. One of his first priorities was returning Kimberly to 24-hour, 7-day a week police coverage, which it had not had for several months. It took him almost two months to reach this goal.

In October 2006, Emerson was placed on paid leave. Almost four weeks later, in November, he resigned. An investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office followed involving missing property that had been under Emerson's control.
