The Olympic soccer countdown clock was a clock located on the Highland Avenue overpass along the Red Mountain Expressway that counted down the days, hours and minutes until 1996 Olympic soccer commenced at Legion Field. Costing just over $30,000, the clock was dedicated on Wednesday, March 9, 1995, exactly 500 days before the event was to commence. Unveiled by members of the Birmingham Soccer Organizing Committee, other persons on hand at the event included Larry Lemak and the 1996 Olympic mascot Izzy.

After the Olympics, the clock was removed from the overpass. On Tuesday, September 10, 1996, the clock was auctioned off at Legion Field.
