Prodigal Son's Cafe was an apothecary-style coffee shop and restaurant located on Middle Street in Montevallo. It was opened in 1996 by Greg Martin. The shop's name refers to Martin's hiatus from the University of Montevallo to work at Walt Disney World in Florida, and his subsequent return. The space was also used for live music, performances, and other events. Prodigal Son's was known for its desserts, and its milkshake recipe was used by Eclipse Coffee. The store closed in 1999.
